Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6 v 3.
Today was the first day of 2013 that it was actually warm enough to wear shorts.
And this alone would have been enough to make it a great day.
Just that it actually feels a little like summer.
And the beautiful, sparkling morning sun reminded me of that verse from Hosea.
About the certainty of sunrise.
The certainty that when we return to God and His ways in repentance and acknowledge Him in our lives and hearts, that He will certainly come to us.
And I have spent today celebrating my fake-little-sisters birthday.
She turns 14 on Wednesday.
So we have beauty salon-ed it, walked a beautiful beach, shopped for birthday clothes, and will soon eat copious amounts of Indian food.
But throughout today, and in the joy of today, and in the laughter of today, that verse has been in my mind.
Along with the lyrics from the Luke Wood song,
Like the sun after all of the rain’s gone, the morning without any clouds come, it’s a picture of Your love.
